Stress Management
My stress level is quite high at the moment but it isn't as high as I thought it would be. Exams are approaching quickly, I have to check in on my crew to make sure they are studying and getting their work done, I have to apply to a collage very soon, if I don't do very well on my exams I'm going to fail all of my classes, I procrastinate and end up behind in my work. All of this piled up with my personal things that need to be done, I'd imagine that I would be very stressed but actually I'm not. I have cut back on somethings and have found more time to do my work. I'm still behind in a lot of stuff, and I have to study a lot more but I'm getting there. My family and boyfriend helps me stay focused on my work a lot which helps me a lot.

Joker to Royalty
In class we did this activity where we all get a card and the number/face that is on the card represents your level of popularity. During this activity you had to walk around and talk to everyone, but you had to treat them as if they are their card. The people with low numbered cards were hardly spoken to but the people who had the high numbers or face cards were very respected and everyone tried talking to them. This is like with the grade 9s because there are certain people who are more "popular" and everyone want to know them but they don't always want to have anything to do with other people, like the small numbered cards.
My partner and I thought that MF is a 3, TV is a 6, CM is a 4, AM is a Queen, KD is a 4, RM is a 7, CT is a 10, and J is a Jack. The kids I need to get a connection with are MF, CM, and KD. I already have a kind of connection with MF and CM, MF texts me and we talk in the halls a lot. CM doesn't like that I make her do her work, so she doesn't really like me.
As for academics, I have recently checked with the science teacher to see how my crew's grades are. All of them are passing, the teacher did tell me that there are 2 certain kids I have to check up on and my partner has found out that another one of our kids has a low grade. We are going to check in on those 3 quite a lot and then check in on the others occasionally just to make sure their grades are staying up.

Leadership
“We need to stop viewing the leader as a type of person in charge of a group. Instead, we need to see how leadership can come from anyone who shows it as in an occasional, discrete act of influence.”
In my experiences, my partner and I have shared the work. I listen to her and followed her lead so we can make use of her strengths. At another point she followed my lead. Eventually this helped us to get to our goal faster and better. It isn't bad at times to let our kids take part in the decisions. Leading doesn't have to be following one person. Leading can also be making descisions with the whole group, which includes our kids.
There were times when one of our kids started the activities because they knew how the activity is played and love it. I love when they step up and lead the activities because it shows the other kids that this is actually a fun thing and more want to participate.
My partner and I usually work together but there are times when I'm shy and she steps up and takes the lead, there are also times when she is shy and I take charge.
A leader isn't always the sterotypical "leader", but usually these non-sterotypical leaders because they aren't as loud, up front, or of "higher power". Anyone can be a leader if they have the right ideas and people like what they say.

Academics, Volunteer Hours, Social Life
Academics
The boys in my crew don't really talk to me, but from the few things they have said to me I know that CT feels like he is doing ok in his classes. I know that CT had been having some trouble in math class, I haven't checked in on that fully yet. RM doesn't say anything to me and J is having some trouble settling in science class. My partner and I have talked and we have decided that she will be helping J with his science.
As for the girls, I know that MF passed her classes, but that her math and science grades were low. We have talked and she has told me that she is going to try and bring up her grades. MF says she doesn't need my help. CM isn't doing well in science or english so I will be going to her and helping her with those classes. TV and KD said that they are ok but now that they have their report cards I am going to ask again on Monday and see if they really think that and see if I can help them bring up grades.
Volunteer Hours
CM and MF have told me that they have all of their hours. MF said she hasn't handed them in yet, I'm going to make sure she does soon. KD doesn't have her's yet, my partner and I are going to try and get her some. The boys say they have it figured out. I have a feeling CT and RM were just saying this to get us to go away. My partner and I will check in on this again.
Social Life
MF has been having some trouble with her friends lately but things seem to be getting better. KD and CM are bungee cord buddies, if I see one of them the other is always close by. CT and RM are always in a big group of guys. CT gets in trouble sometimes. I always see J in a small group of friends, he never seems to notice me saying "hi" when i walk by him.
My partner and I are going to talk about making some plans with our crew to have some study sessions.

My Event and the Dance
I don't think my event was all that good. I should have announced it better and sooner. The actual event was ok, a lot of grade 12s showed up and we had a nice time learning about the different ways to dress Goth I was very proud of all of the people who dressed up on Monday. Everyone did a great job with their outfits. I think that if I ever do this again I would announce it better and have more time for me to show some ways to do their make up or questions or something like that. I feel like I could have planned my event better.
The glow dance was a lot of fun. It was the first time I went to a dance at the since the grade 8 Halloween dance thing. I saw a few of my Link crew kids there. At first it was boring and I didn't know what to do. A few of the Link Leaders would see me and come over to make me dance, that was always fun. After a while of wandering I found a group of people to hang out with. They were all grade 9s and 1 of them were in my Link crew. When the dance was over we all made a deal to go to all of the dances together as a big group. It was nice to find some people that I fit in with. I hung out with them all again on Monday in the games room at lunch and my Link Crew kid added me on Facebook, we talk sometimes.

How Have I Grown As A Link Leader
I don't think I've grown much as a Link Leader. I was a much better leader during the first couple of weeks than I am now. I only really talk to a few of my kids. I've never really been to their MSIPs. I'm a really horrible link leader. I could come up with a million excuses but the truth is that I've just not done it. I keep in contact with a couple of the link kids because I notice them more and they actually talk to me. I know I should try harder and keep contacting them. All of my procrastination is starting to catch up with me and I'm feeling the stress of not doing the work.
I think that from now on I'm going to try much harder to get my work done and I'm going to find someone who will sit with me and make sure I stay on track and get all of my work done because without that person I'm sure I'll just keep going like I am now.

The World Need All Kinds Of Minds
The world needs all kinds of minds because the world would be a very boring place if we all thought the exact same way. We need those who have different interests so that the needs of different people are taken care of. You need the people who think with pictures and people who think with words and language.
The world needs people with ASD. If they have enough socialization they will be the masters in their career choice, usually people with ASD will "obsess" over a certain subject, they will try to learn everything about that thing. They will want everything they do to be perfect and if it isn't they will try again and again.
If everyone thought the same way art galleries and museums would all look boring and repeated. If Picasso had thought the same way as everyone else we wouldn't have any of his amazing famous paintings. Abstract art wouldn't really exist, it would be portraits of the high class people that could afford it.
If people all thought the same we wouldn't have planes. If Wright brothers didn't think that if they took some materials they could make a flying machine we would be using boats to go over seas. That is if we ever had boats, some one different had to think up that as well.
Everything we have now we have because some one different thought they could do something no one else did.
